PATRICK A. BARONE

Patrick A. Barone, 92, of Frontenac, Kansas died at 11:40 P.M. Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at his home.

Mr. Barone was born January 14, 1934, at Camp 50 the son of Tony and Katie Jersic Barone.  Pat was a businessman who lived in Frontenac most of his life. He was raised in Camp 50 and graduated from Arma High School in the Class of 1952. He worked 4 years in California for Shell Oil Company. He married Sharon Thomas on May 31, 1958 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Pittsburg, Kansas. Mrs. Barone survives at the home. He was very active in community services-Crawford County Commissioners, Colgan-St. Mary’s School Board, Frontenac City Council, Crawford County Zoning Board, Chairman of Crawford County Juvenile Detention Center Committee, Chairman of Crawford County Planning and Zoning Board, and served on the Crawford County Commission 7 years until retiring in 1976. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Frontenac and the Knights of Columbus. Survivors include his wife, Sharon, a daughter, Michelle Barone of Springfield, Missouri, a granddaughter, Katie (Garrett) Tyson of Springfield, Missouri, a grandson, Adam (Nikki) Schmitt of Kansas City, Missouri, great grandchildren, Charley Elizabeth Tyson, Lleyton Scott Tyson, Patrick Thomas Tyson, Presley Michelle Sutherland, and a brother, Jim (Donita) Barone of Frontenac, Kansas, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Rosemary (Sis) Massa.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 A.M. Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Frontenac, Kansas with Father Josh Evans and Father Mike Simone as Concelebrants. Burial will be at the Highland Park Cemetery in Pittsburg, Kansas. Rosary will be said at 6 P.M. Friday, September 4, 2026, at the Bedene Funeral Home in Arma where the family will receive friends following the rosary until 7:30 P.M. The family suggests memorials to the Sacred Heart Memorial Fund or the Our Lady of Lourdes Memorial Fund. Donations may be sent to or left at the Bedene Funeral Home, 517 E.
