Dorothy Ann Mangile, 93, of Frontenac, Kansas died at 4:50 A.M. Friday, August 21, 2026 at Girard Medical Center in Girard, Kansas.
Mrs. Mangile was born April 11, 1933 at Pittsburg, Kansas the daughter of Ernest B. and Opal Ellen Richwine Long. Dorothy was a homemaker and worked for Hix Corporation for 23 years. She was raised in Pittsburg and graduated from Frontenac High School in the Class of 1951. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Pittsburg, Kansas where she served as an Elder, Deacon, sang in the church choir, and a member of the 21th Century Sunday School Class. She loved helping people and loved all her family especially the family get togethers. She married Albert D. Mangile on June 4, 1955 at Carthage, Missouri. Mr. Mangile survives at the home. Additional survivors include two daughters, Sandrah Pierce of Pittsburg and Mariann (Chris) Blancho of Manhattan, Kansas, grandchildren, Dena (Brandon) Short, Jennifer (Cory) Gibson, Julie (Mark) Pagenkopf, Eric (Alyssa) Blancho and Kayla (Levi) Whitebread, great grandchildren, Cooper (Natalie) Short, Ashtyn (fiancé Jesus Sanchez) Esposito, Jayton Gibson, Marlie Pagenkopf, Weston Pagenkopf, Emma Landis, and Wells Whitebread, great great-grandsons, Grady Short and Kohen Sanchez, and nieces, Julie Redd, and Marty VanHouten. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Ernie Long Jr., sister, Marilyn Brown, nephews, Rick Long, Steve Brown and Ronnie Brown, and son-in-law, Ed Pierce.
Funeral services will be at 10 A.M. Wednesday, August 26, 2026 at the Bedene Funeral Home in Arma, Kansas with Rev. Dustin Morris officiating. Burial will be at the Highland Park Cemetery in Pittsburg, Kansas. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 P.M. Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at the Bedene Chapel in Arma. The family suggests memorials to the First Christian Church in Pittsburg, Kansas. Memorials may be sent to or left at the Bedene Funeral Home, 517 E. Washington, Box 621, Arma, Kansas 66712.
