Jean Marie Skidmore, 79, of Belton, Missouri died at 1:21 P.M. Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at Fox Springs at Raymore, Missouri.
Mrs. Skidmore was born July 29, 1945 at San Antonio, Texas the daughter of Jack and Mildred Grizzle Cowan. Jean was a retired banker at First State Bank in Pittsburg, Kansas where she was a loan officer. She was raised in Arma, Kansas and graduated from the Arma High School in the Class of 1963. She married Gary E. Skidmore on September 4, 1989 at Timmons Chapel at Pittsburg, Kansas. Survivors include her husband Gary of the home, two daughters, LeAnn (Michael) Assink of Holland, Michigan and Whendi (Bill) Martin of Ft. Scott, Kansas, son, Jeff (Wendy) Skidmore of Overland Park, Kansas, sister, Cindy Cowan of Farmington, New Mexico, sister-in-law, Sharon Cowan of Arma, seven grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Mildred Cowan, a daughter, Gina Minelli, and a brother, Steve Cowan.
Funeral services will be at 2 P.M. Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at the Bedene Funeral Home at Arma, Kansas with the Rev. Steve Cole officiating. Burial will be at the Pittsburg Garden of Memories Cemetery. Friends may call 11 A.M. to 4 P.M. Monday at the Bedene Chapel. The family suggest in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to the Hunters Grace Foundation.
